Sometimes it can be uncomfortable to step into unfamiliar situations. We try to do everything we can to make it easier for you.
Parking
Feel free to park anywhere in our parking lot, but if you're visiting with us, we have reserved some special spots for you up front. You are our guest and we want you to feel special from the moment you pull into our parking lot. Handicap spaces are also available.
Entrance
We have two main entrances at the front of the church. Feel free to use either one. For your safety, doors are locked after the start of the services. One of our friendly greeters will let you in if you're running a few minutes late.
Most people use this entrance before Sunday School, Wednesday evening Prayer Meetings, and TNT
Most people use this entrance before Sunday morning Worship Services
Dress
When you come to Parkview Baptist Church you will see people dressed the way they feel most comfortable. We want you to do the same. Some people feel comfortable in their "Sunday best", while others are most comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt. We care far less about what's on the outside than the person on the inside. Come as you are!
Style
Rather than focus on a particular style of worship, we want our worship to be a genuine expression of our heart for the Lord. We strive to be real and fresh with God in our worship. We use a variety of traditional and modern hymns as well as some newer praise music. One week we might worship with a wonderfully talented choir, while the next week we might worship with a praise team. However our worship is led, it is theologically rich and congregational in its expression. We love to sing to Jesus and we hope you will join us!
The Worship Service
When you arrive, one of our friendly greeters will give you a bulletin which provides you with the order of the day's service. Our greeters are available to show you anything you need to know, including restrooms and child care. Feel free to ask them any questions you might have.
Lyrics to each song we sing will be shown on the video screen. Many are also in the hymnal in front of where you will be sitting. The congregational song leader will announce the page number.
The main part of each Worship Service is the time we spend hearing from God in the sermon. Each sermon is taken from a passage in the Bible. Don't worry if you don't have a Bible--there will be one in front of where you will be sitting. Feel free to take it home with you if you would like. It is our gift to you. Many of the Bible passages will also be shown on the video screen.
As a visitor, know that we will never call you out or do anything to make you feel awkward or embarrassed. We would like to have a record of your visit, so we would like for you to fill out a visitor's card. Your information is kept strictly in-house and will never be sold or otherwise abused. Visitor's cards are located in front of where you will be sitting. Simply fill it out and drop it in the offering plate when it comes by.
A key part of our weekly worship is the giving of tithes and offerings. Please understand that time is specifically for our church members and regular attenders. You are our guest. And as our guest, we don't want you to feel obligated to give anything. When the offering plate is passed, simply drop in your visitor's card and pass it on.
We hope you will plan on sticking around for a few minutes after the service. That is a great time to introduce yourself and get to know people. We want you to feel welcome!
